LOVE NOTE SWEATER

2 1/2 years ago I started watching knitting video podcasts on You tube. Then you get a lot of inspiration and see a lot you want to knit.  In one of the first I watched,  I completely fell in love with  a Love Note sweater that Ellen in Garnbutikken Fortuna was wearing. And this is a sweater that has since appeared in one video podcast after another, "everyone" has knitted it. But I have been a little skeptical about whether I wanted a sweater with "fluff", it is knitted with one thread of mohair, and one  thread of other yarn. Many of them I have seen have also been knitted in rather expensive yarn. But a while ago I watched the podcast Hilde JoJo Strikker. She had knitted it in Arwetta and Drops Kid Silk. Then I started looking for a sock yarn with the same yarn length, and found that Drops Flora could be used. And it was even on offer in the online store Ulleliten, and so was also Drops Kid silk mohair. Then suddenly yarn was ordered. I was a little worried about whether I would react with allergies to the mohair yarn, but it has gone well! So thanks to everyone who has given me inspiration, now I  have a lovely soft Love Note sweater too! Pattern from Tin Can Knits. If anyone wants to watch the podcasts, just type in the names and search on YouTube.

I have to show a picture from one of our little trips here on Hafslundsøya. It's so beautiful!

When we walk on the pedestrian / bicycle bridge that goes from Hafslundsøy to Sarpsborg just below where we live, we constantly see swallows flying around. Often there are one or two sitting on the bridge. They are barn swallows and it seems that they have nests under the bridge.

We do not have midnight sun here we live, you have to go much further north to experience that. Here is the sunset at 22.34.

But we can see beautiful glare from the sun to the northwest at midnight.

  1. I love your jumper! 2 weeks ago at a family wedding, two of the guests were from Tromso. They were discussing their forthcoming wedding and I asked what people wore - does one wear a bunad? They were intrigued that I knew the word & I explained I had learned it from your blog! Then they asked if I'd ever had "brown cheese' which is a Norwegian speciality. I didn't know about that. But thank you for giving me something from Norway to bring to the conversation.!

  2. It must be strange but beautiful to see the brightness of the sun at midnight.
You have a lovely place to walk with the Swallows swooping by.
I like your cozy sweater but I also would wonder if I would have a reaction to the mohair.

  3. I love your sweater and being fluffy and soft makes it look so feminine.
I think I would find it very strange to have a light sky at midnight!
