GRATEFUL / TAKKNEMLIG

Now it was time for a finished  project again. This sweater has such a nice name, it's called TAKKNEMLIG, which means GRATEFUL. I bought the yarn package with pattern, to reduced prise a couple of years ago. I was a little worried when I looked at it and saw that the yarn contained alpaca. I had an allergic reaction to knitting with Viking Alpaca Storm. This yarn is called Viking Alpaca Bris. I thought I would try carefully and see. And it went well! The whole sweater is knitted without any problem. It is so delicious and soft, and nice with the light color in spring. It was quick to knit on needles 6mm. So I am grateful to have gotten such a nice new sweater. 😊

Out in nature, signs of spring appear that also make us grateful. The first signs of spring in Norway are not that big in size, but what a joy when you find these little yellow Coltsfoot  that appear among dry, withered grass! The flowers are only about 2cm.

One day I saw this flock of migratory birds coming from the south. They were a little too high up to clearly see which birds it was, but it was impressive.

And even though we also had to do without visits from our dear children this Easter, and this pandemic is unfortunately still raging, we have much to be grateful for. We have celebrated Easter and the message that Jesus died for our sins, but won over death and is our living Savior who gives us hope.

I am also grateful that no one in our family has been  sick from Covid-19. My dear husband has received the first dose of the vaccine, and it does not seem to be that long until I get it too.Vår yngste sønn og samboer skulle flytte i løpet av påskeuken og kjøre over fjellet fra Voss til Trondheim. Our youngest son and girlfriend was to move during the Easter week and drive over the mountains from Voss to Trondheim. The day they left there were dry nice roads to drive, the trip took 10.5 hours. The other days there have been constant reports in the news about snowdrifts, closed roads or column driving at the mountain passes. So we are grateful that they had an uncomplicated journey and are safely moved into their new apartment in Trondheim.

Now we hope that the vaccination will speed up and that the situation can slowly but surely improve.

  2. Your new sweater is just marvelous! It is good that the vaccines are becoming available there. Both Kjell and I have had both of our Pfizer vaccine shots. Our daughter has just had her first one so far. The line started with the oldest first, but now all people 16 years and older in Ohio are eligible to get vaccinated. I hope that means we will soon have Covid-19 behind us. Happy Spring!

  3. What a beautiful sweater! I wonder why one type of alpaca yarn caused a reaction, but the other did not? I am very allergic to free lanolin, so I can't even touch most wool items, even felt made with it. What good luck for your son and girlfriend's journey across the mountains. We here are also very happy about the vaccinations taking place. I want a return to pre-COVID days, and I will be extra-grateful for them. The little flowers popping up for spring are beautiful!

    1. Yes, I think it was strange too that this yarn didn't give any allergy reaction. This yarn was baby alpaca, but I would think it should be the same. So I wonder why I had that reaction on the other yarn. It is spun in different wasy, so maybe the first spread more fluff in the air.

Viola

  5. I love Norwegian patterns. I bought a black and white one from a trip to Norway.
We were also on our own for Easter.
We will be vaccinated in May.
At the moment I am back to the clinic waiting for the surgeon having some complications.

  6. Looks like spring is coming your side this year too! :) Beautiful sweater, love the colors and pattern. Vaccination goes on here too, given priority to frontliners and those holding WAP (Work Access Permit), since we are on lockdown and those who have to work, need that WAP.
