The nice spring weather has really made us wake up from the winter hibernation and get us out. This week we went again to Mærrapanna, but this time we went to Gjetøya, which is on the same recreation area.
Just below where we sat there was a goose couple. Great birds, they were there all the time while we sat there.
Along the road there grows Blåveis (I am not sure about the English name, Blue anemone?). To my great joy they bloomed now.
Blåveis is my childhood spring flower, so they awaken good memories. On the slope from the road down to the sea in Bastvika, where I grew up, there were blue of flowering anemones. And nowhere were the blue colors as beautiful as there. We picked countless bouquets.
Today we also went on a trip, to the lake Vestvannet. There was little water there now. Vestvannet is connected to the river Glomma, so when snow melting and spring floods come, there can be a lot of water! Where we sat today is usually under water.
I have no finished pair of socks this time, but I am knitting. I am working on Longing for Gotland.
I found that I had a box of custard that had gone out of date, so to get it used it became good old-fashioned dessert today. About 2 1/2 cups of apple sauce and one egg white were whipped together, and then it became TROLLKREM/TROLL CREAM WITH APPLES, served with custard. And perfect with nostalgic dessert bowl from childhood. I can't remember my mom making Trollkrem, but I remember many Sunday desserts with jelly or chocolate pudding in that serving bowl.
