The second pair of Marius wrist warmers from the knitting basket is finished. Knitted with Sandnes Mini Alpakka, needles 2.5. Here they have been placed on the nice little sled my brother made for my doll when I was little.
And now I am knitting to finish these mittens. When they are finished I shall start on the March-mittens in the knit-along.
MISJONSSELSKAP FOR KVINNER STENBEKK 2013Yesterday I was at a gathering at Stenbekk mission center where 109 women gathered for the Missionary party for Women. (Quilting ladies, notice the beautiful quilted wall hanging!) Theme was glimpses of China. Here we were welcomed by Unni Holm Olsen.
We heard about China from two students from Hald International Centre. They are both from China. Ada is from Harbin City and told about her church, Hallelujah Church. They have 8,000 members, and must have many church services every Sunday. Sofia comes from Bejing and her church was Christian Beijing Chong Wen Men Church, also a large church with a lot of activity. Mari Bunæs had been on a visit to China to NMS projects in China / Hong Kong and showed pictures and told about her trip.
We got delicious dinner, casserole with a taste of China.
And we were served by these noble gentlemen from a men's mission group. Some women helped in the kitchen, but otherwise it's the men who served us this day. Something they think is very pleasant, they never get as much good words as on this day, they say :)
After dinner there was a break where we who wanted, could get a walk and some fresh air. Next post on the program was "What I see when I not see" with Kjersti Lium. She is blind and was with the Expedition No limits on TV with Lars Monsen. She told about - and showed photos from No Limits. We heard about how they with different disabilities could complement and help each other. They got strong friendship and they struggled together to achieve the goal, the top of the mountain Snøhetta. Kjersti was very good to tell the story. It was a strong story about friendship, struggle and mastering.
It was a day with many good impressions and inspiration.
